The Rainforest Motel is a 12 unit Motel with a range of rooms catering for couples through to large family groups. Large spacious units situated on large open grounds with great views up towards the Mountains. We are located off State Highway 6, but are only a 100 metre walk to the village, for easy walking to the cafes & Fox Glacier Guides.

The Rainforest Motel is situated in the middle of Fox Glacier village, off State Highway 6, making for a quiet location, but still close enough to walk to the amenities. We are situated on 2 hectares of land making for lots of space and an open feel, with lovely views looking up towards the Southern Alps. Our big lawn, bordered by a creek, is a great place for the kids (family-friendly accommodation!) to run around after a long day in the car.

We have studio units for 1, 2 or 3 people which are comfortable & warm with queen sized beds, kitchens & ensuite bathrooms. We also have 2 one bedroom units with queen sized bedrooms, a separate kitchen & living area and an ensuite bathroom. Our 2 bedroom units are very large & spacious, sleeping up to 6 people comfortably. Parking is right outside your unit. 2 of our units are wheelchair accessible.

Having only 12 rooms, we are able to give a high level of service, and never tire of giving out information about Glacier walks on the Fox Glacier, Scenic Helicopter Flights, the best time to get the perfect reflections on Lake Matheson, and suggestions for a tasty dinner.

We have 2 young children, so are particularly qualified to give advice on the best walks & places to go with children, as well as having toys, books, high chair, cot, baby bath, & hiking backpack available to borrow.
